Independence Day of Algeria

Sunday, Jul 5, 2026 · Cultural

Algeria’s Independence Day remembers the end of French colonial rule in 1962, after a long struggle for self-determination. In the classroom, it can open a thoughtful conversation about courage, identity, and the importance of home, while helping children with Algerian roots feel recognized and giving other students a respectful window into Algeria’s history and culture.
