International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Wednesday, Feb 11, 2026 · Cultural
International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a day that celebrates the work of women in science and encourages more girls to see STEM as a place they belong. One cool fact is that many important discoveries, from computer programming to medicine, were shaped by women whose names were not always recognized at the time. Bringing it into school is a great idea because it builds girls' confidence, provides all students with more role models, and fosters respect for the many people who move science forward.
