Oshogatsu (Japanese New Year) is Japan’s New Year celebration, usually on January 1. One quick fact is that many families eat osechi, special New Year foods that symbolize good luck. Celebrating it is a simple way to help students learn about Japanese culture and build curiosity and a sense of belonging through a shared tradition.
