Smiling Mask Festival

The MassKara Festival in Bacolod City, Philippines, features dancers in giant smiling masks. It began in 1980 to lift spirits during hard times. Filipino-heritage students see a joyful tradition from home honored, and everyone learns that a smile can help a whole community heal.
