Windrush Day
Monday, Jun 22, 2026 · Cultural
Windrush Day is a day in the UK to honor the Caribbean people who came to Britain after World War II and helped shape the country’s communities, culture, and public services. In the classroom, it’s a meaningful way to talk about migration, courage, family stories, and the contributions of Caribbean communities. It can help kids with Caribbean roots feel seen, while helping other students grow curiosity, respect, and a better understanding of how people’s journeys shape a country’s history.
