Yom Ha'atzmaut is Israel’s Independence Day, a celebration of the founding of the modern State of Israel in 1948. Recognizing it in the classroom can help children with Israeli or Jewish connections feel seen and connected to an important part of their identity and history. It also gives the class a chance to learn how national days can carry meaning, memory, and pride, which can help grow understanding and belonging.
